Climate in Vera Playa

Vera Playa enjoys a perfect all-year round Mediterranean climate, as does the whole of the Costa Almeria. In the sub-tropical environment temperatures rarely fall below 18ºC. During the summer months the temperature rises above 30ºC and July and August can get much hotter, dropping again around mid-September to a milder, but still warm and enjoyable 23ºC-27ºC degrees. The winters are mild and mostly dry, although the winter evenings can get chilly.

Vera itself lies approximately 10 kilometers inland from the coast, but the municipality extends to the sea shore. There, a tourist settlement, named Vera Playa, has been developed. This now forms the main economic activity of Vera.

Since 1990, Vera Playa has developed into an important centre for naturisum. There are several apartment complexes, including Natsun, La Manera, Bahia de Vera and Vera Natura, where naturism is officially permitted. The naturist complex is completely open and there are good parking facilities. About two kilometers of beach have been reserved for naturists. The only naturist hotel in Spain, the Vera Playa Club Hotel, is also located in Vera Playa.

Local Golf:

Golf is located on Mojacar Playa and it is a golf course with character: nine of the holes are situated perfectly and directly at the beach on flat terrain and the second nine are situated on the other side of a hill, with a different view and climate. Here the spectacular and difficult tee-offs are especially notable.

Mojacar Camels: Local attraction for the family. These camels spend most of the summer on Mojacar Playa. The owners offer camel rides next to the beach in front of Hotel Marina Playa. during winter the camel herd lives on the Camel Farm close by. Enjoy a camel ride and join the 23 dromedaries on the farm. Why not take a picnic with you and have a great adventure. There is plenty of space to entertainment the children whilst you sit and enjoy the hot summer sun. The rides last 45 minutes.
